About me
I’m Andrea Dunathan.
I help people who have founded a business based on their own industry expertise. They’ve grown their business successfully so far, but they’re hitting a point where they need some outside advice to get their business to the next level.
I have over twenty years’ experience as an independent consultant, helping owners grow their businesses successfully. I’ve worked with owners in a wide variety of industries, from software companies and consulting firms to meat producers and landscaping firms.
Prior to starting Dunathan Consulting in 2004, I worked with local governments and community nonprofits, helping them stretch their limited dollars through operational improvements so they could have a greater impact on the community. My first independent clients were international NGOs, working to improve supply chains for public health across the globe. From there, I began to work with businesses of all types, from mom-and-pop shops to global corporations.
Since 2017, I’ve mostly worked with local, regional, and national owner-managed businesses, in industries ranging from cybersecurity, engineering, and law firms to landscaping and meat production. I enjoy working in partnership with owners to help them build a solid foundation for continued growth and success. In addition to my client work, I’m an active member of the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network, and Women Business Owners of Montgomery County.
My approach
I believe that most people want to do a good job at work. They want their company to do well, and they’re trying to do their part. So what’s getting in their way?
Operations consulting is all about giving people the tools, information, processes, and support they need to do their jobs well. My job is to identify what’s preventing you and your employees from working smoothly and efficiently to get the job done.
Eliminating the problems not only makes your staff more productive, it also makes their work more interesting, engaging, and enjoyable. And happy, productive staff make for a profitable and well-run workplace. That’s a win-win for everyone.
Get your business running smoothly and profitably
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, your business’s growth may be outpacing its capacity to serve customers.
To grow, your business needs a solid operational foundation: productive people, clear processes, and useful systems. Sounds great in theory, but putting that foundation in place can be hard.
Let me help you:
Make the most of your staff’s capabilities
Identify opportunities to increase net profit
Improve tools and processes so your staff can do their best work
Get you the information you need to manage effectively
You’ll be able to grow your business with less stress and more profit.
